Information you give us
If you email us (for example to report an error), we receive your email address and message and use them only to reply and to fix the data. We do not sell or share them.
Information stored in your browser
The “Add to compare” list is kept only in your own browser (local storage) so the comparison works without an account. It is not sent to us. You can clear it by removing the campgrounds from the compare bar or clearing your browser data. The trip budget calculator runs in your browser; the numbers you enter are only sent to our server if you submit the form without JavaScript, and they are not stored.
Server logs
Like every website, our hosting provider records technical access logs (such as IP address, browser type, requested page and time) for security and troubleshooting. These logs are kept for a limited time and are not used to identify you.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies. If we add them in the future (for example Google Analytics or Google AdSense), we will update this page first, describe the cookies and your choices, and ask for consent where the law requires it.
Links to other sites
Campground pages link to official sites such as Recreation.gov and nps.gov. Their own privacy policies apply when you visit them.
Children
The site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their information.
